Clinical Value of the FoSOD
FoSOD Scales and Subscales

The FoSOD consists of 66 items, eight of which provide demographic information and 58 of which form six different factors or distinct types of denial. These factors were derived based on a combination of theoretical development, empirical testing, and systematic analyses (which will be described in a later section of the manual), and form the six basic scales of the FoSOD. Some of these scales are composed of more specific subscales which represent sets of identifiable features contributing to that type of denial. Each scale, along with any subscales, is described below.
