Clinical Value of the FoSOD

Denial of Risk of Relapse:

An 8-item scale measuring a predisposition to disavow any interest in sexual contact with a child or any possibility of committing another sexual offense.

This scale has two subscales:

Denial of Sexual Deviancy: a 4-item subscale that measures a willingness to acknowledge some degree of vulnerability to becoming sexually attracted to a child.

Denial of Future Offense Risk: a 4-item subscale measuring a predisposition to refute assertions of any enduring capacity to re-offend.
